About this conference

The Chinese Society of Biotechnology, Japanese Society of Biotechnology and Korean Society of Biotechnology and Bioengineering, announce an international conference on biotechnology and related fields.

Today, biotechnology has been considered to be one of the most potential field in the 21st century, and it has also become one of the most important drivers for the development of the international circular economy. In addition, biotechnology has also provided the essential means for quick and sustainable development of many fields such as resource, energy, environment, material and health. Fifty years ago, in 1953, the model of the double helix structure of DNA molecule was first presented by J. D. Watson and F. H. C. Crick. Thirty years ago, in 1973, the first experiment on recombinant DNA was accomplished by H. W. Boyer and S. N. Cohen. For memory of these chief events in history of international biotechnology, the conference, "Biotech 2003, Beijing", is going to be held.

This conference will provide an extended forum for biotechnology researchers worldwide to present their recent discoveries, developments and challenges in biotechnology and related fields. We also believe that this symposium will also provide a unique medium for exchanging up-to-date research results, discussing common research interests, exploring potential scientific cooperation, and strengthening friendship among active scientists worldwide.

In addition, this conference will also invite the companies in biotechnology fields to show their bio-products, instruments and facilities. Thus it is also a very good chance for both scientists and enterprisers to found their friendly relations, and this comprehensive touch will be highly benefit to the prospect and commercialization of biotechnology.

Scope

The proposed topics for the scientific sessions of this conference will focus on the following areas:
EBasic research of biotechnology
EMedicine biotechnology
EAgriculture biotechnology
EIndustry biotechnology
EMarine biotechnology
EEnvironment biotechnology
EDevelopment of biotechnology commercialization
